Book Summary

Produced in association with the Musée Marmottan Monet, this beautifully illustrated book looks at the life and work of the leading light in the Impressionist movement. Augmented by the inclusion of circa a dozen facsimile documents, selected from Monet's personal archives, this book highlights the influences on his work, shows how he developed series of paintings that reflected the world around him and gives an insight into his personal interests. The documents include sketches and preliminary drawings, letters, marriage registrations, and postcards.
